I made this for new players of D&D 3.5... the system is usually a complex thing for newbies, so i prepared this for the ones that wanted to start playing without worrying about the character creation (at least when they first meet the game... cause they will surelly want to create their own characters when the serious game begins).
it is made in Spanish, cause my players are all from Argentina. Everything is simplified and packed on a single page. ^^

I'm new to D&D and would rather NOT have to craft new characters from scratch but...in the event I need a character for 3.5...would you be okay translating it to English if need be?
Bear in mind I've got about 3 characters that can be used for D&D, (one technically for Shadowrun if altered or more naturally Fallout-themed RPG), but only one of them has been used and barely at that.

For now spanish only... future translations may be posible, but not before August, since I'm full of commission work and won't have time to make them. u.u
Also, at least for me and my players, making the character sheets is one of the best parts of the game. ^^
But I've find that some new players or people who want quick adventures lost their motivation when they have to create the character from cero, specially those that don't know the system at all or are not experienced in the making of fast characters. That's why i made these (and that's why I haven't made sheets for non core or complex classes, like Warlock, knight, dragon shamman and things like those). ^^

Yes making a character is fun...but not when you've already got 3-4 characters and only one of them has barely been in the sun for maybe...6 sessions or even 10 if that.
Personally I'd probably use Ranger, Barbarian, or Cleric. (Even in Fantasy games I'm not too keen on magic; nothing against it I guess just arrow and blade is more my thing).

Bard would be nice for performance but a ranger/hunter could also be skilled in the art of the lyre/lute at the very least imo, (sort of a taming the beast aspect when he's not hunting or needs to hunt).
Ranger just has that sort of nice blend of ranged, melee and maybe some miscellaneous options, (like the above instruments).

Indeed. ^^
I used to play a Ranger specialized in herbs, alchemy and arrow making, a guy made to survive on the wild by their own... remember how the other players (even the spellcasters) got really worried about my custom tools and arrows (thanks to alchemy, herbology and arrow crafting.. none of my tools were magic at all, but where indeed cool and diverse, even at low levels)... it was cool, cause most players just play by the book and by the "kill kill kill" mindset, and classes like the ranger, even when they are awesome warriors, they excell in other things like tracking, survival, wild nature knowledge, animal handle.
In my Basic Ranger i added a set of "herbs" for the ranger to use, but if you play by the book, there is none in the base build, they didn't even recomend the herbology or crafting skills, how is he going to survive? how is he going to treat a fiber, a poison, a wound? how would he craft a temporal house, a trap, or improvised weapons? lots of those considerations are more RoleLike... and sadly lots of RolePlaying Rulebooks goes more for the RollPlaying instead. u.u

That...are a bunch of good things to consider. and I recall using books when crafting my ranger but then again he was and still is my FIRST character anyway and didn't have a long time to make him anyway since it was right before a session started or an intro session at least.
But yeah the survivalist stuff is necessary for a ranger, especially a tribal nomadic one. (Granted I don't see Lucius as an alchemist necessarily but certainly a hunter, or beast tamer, at the very least)

And the class don't make the character at all... as you said "a ranger/hunter could also be skilled in the art of the lyre/lute".. indeed... the same way with a bard that knows how to handle animals and track. it adds a lot to the flavor of the character if he can do more or diferent things than the core conception of the class.
We used to have "a fighter" that put his higher atribute bonuss to Inteligence and Charisma, It wasn't as deadly and tough as a full Strenght/Constitution fighter, but was a great leader and influencer, more skilled than other fighters of the same class..., lots of adventures after he became a pirate capitan (the player was a great fan of pirates, and we ended adding a lot of marine adventures when they got their first ship and crew). Maybe a Swashbucler, a bard or a Rouge would be a better choice in terms of power to play a pirate capitan, combat and skill wise, but characters are more than their clases and their numbers, they are stories and backgrounds, they are dreams and experiences, they grow and transform with every session. That's why i Love RolePlaying, you can adapt everything to your desires and if not you can still have a great adventure. ^^
