“But when you think you’re safe is precisely when you’re most vulnerable…”
Music to accompany piece: Stronger Faster Braver & Victory
As they sized each other up, she unexpectedly laughed, causing her opponent to jump back startled.
“Hmm, is something wrong? Surely a tough fighter such as yourself is not scared of little me….are you?” Her lavender eyes fiercely glowed like the flames around her. She was…excited? Yes, that was the word. She felt a surge of excitement facing off against this demon. Her blade motioned at the village around her, most of it either destroyed or burning rubble, a result of the villains coming through and destroying anything in their path. Then she pointed her blade’s tip at his henchmen...or their remains rather. Their corpses were ripped and disembodied from the wrath of her blade and claws. Finally, she pointed her blade in his direction-
“See those charred remains, buildings, and memories you and your band of miscreants burned down? I am here to seek vengeance on this village’s behalf. Your men have already fallen. You are next.” Her voice was soft yet unusually calm, as if she already knew she the outcome. But then, she intended to walk away from this fight as the last one standing. Apparently these bandits had been bored and went around ransacking random villages they felt were defenseless or easy prey for them and would only stop if they were paid a “fee.” Unfortunately, this poor village, its inhabitants mostly farmers, did not have the funds to spare. As a result, they were punished with the loss of their homes…or lives.
Thankfully, one of the villagers that had managed to escape came across Whisper while she was resting at an inn in the nearby village a few miles away. The villager, a woman in her late 30s, early 40s, stumbled into the inn: her clothes ripped and bloodied, while her feet blistered from having run such a distance on foot. When the innkeeper finally got her calmed down, helped her clean up, and gave her some water to drink, she told everyone about the pillagers and how her village, or what was left of it, had been destroyed. Hearing of the situation, Whisper immediately rushed over to help. Such nonsense made her fur stand on end. Someone was going to pay for all the anguish and pain they caused.
…
Charging towards him, she knew one of them would die, she just had to make sure it was not her.
As her blade pierced his heart, she let it linger inside of him until his body collapsed to the ground. Her eyes met his, as the life slowly drained out of him, “Omae no me wa shibito no sore da. Shibito ni ore wa tomerarenai.”
“Is…is it over?” A hushed voice called to Whisper from behind a nearby hut. She had been hiding there the entire time, watching the fight and hoping…and praying the young warrior would not only win- but live as she had seen enough bloodshed today without witnessing another unnecessary death. The matron’s body, covered in blood and bruises, shook as she cradled her young child, a boy looking to be barely three or four.
The battleworn assassin glanced at the woman, a weary smile crossed her maw as she shook the blood off her blade. “Hai, they are gone now. I just hope you are able to rebuild the damage that was done to your home.”
The woman sadly smiled back at Whisper as she pulled out a handkerchief, her maternal instincts subconsciously causing her to wipe the specks of blood off the young assassin’s face, “Our village may be gone but our spirit will never leave this place. We are farmers afterall: like the seeds, with lots of nurturing and patience, we CAN thrive through anything.”
“I understand.” As Whisper gazed around at remains of her fallen foes and the village, she closed her eyes. Her blade felt unusually heavy- not from fatigue but anguish.
I have always wanted a musical commission. I know, that sounds odd. But to me, it is fascinating to see how an artist envisions your character using only music as a guide. Definitely expect a few more musical commissions of my girl as I find more artists capable and willing to do them- I definitely enjoy getting them! That and I have a ton of songs I would love to see come to life in art.
…and yes, for those of you that listened to the accompanying music, I am a huge fan of two steps from hell! From helping me get through my work day, to powering through a tough run, their music seriously motivates me! So it was only fitting to have Whisper drawn in a piece to match their magnificent music.
I want to give a special thank you to the awesome artist behind this piece hale. I gave them full artistic freedom with this piece and needless to say I was not disappointed! They even designed Whisper’s outfit. I know I have mentioned this before, but I love when an artist creates a new look for my characters that suits them; that makes me so happy. Highly recommended artist that I definitely plan on working with again- thank you~

You know...I started to leave with just the music to let people make their own assumption of the piece but then I realized not everyone likes tsfh so meh, I covered both bases, lol.
Ah well, next musical piece I get I won't write a description. I'm glad you like it as well~

Okay, okay...the descriptions stay! LOL. I think you're the first (and only) person to say they like reading them. Most of my watchers just look at the art so there are times I definitely consider not writing a story...
...but then my stubborn side gives in and I write one anyway.
