Jessica.Reiland sent me this during my rather rough time of my mother passing away to improve my mood, which she was very successful in. A lovely rendering of me, in traditional Native-American garb with an interesting majik aspect. Sort of matches my firey independence and desire to help others, yes? (giggles) If you wish to leave comments, be sure to mirror it on Jessica's post too here:

Doing well, finally. I think the shock and stress have finally lifted, and I've been feeling a freedom I haven't felt in two years. Much like Scrooge said:
“I don't know what to do!" cried Scrooge, laughing and crying in the same breath, and making a perfect Laocoön of himself with his stockings. "I am as light as a feather, I am as happy as an angel, I am as merry as a school-boy. I am as giddy as a drunken man. "
Well, I don't drink except extremely rarely and usually, it's Moonshine ;). But still, I do feel far lighter than I have in quite awhile.
Thank you, honey (hugs)

A wonderful work. Really impressive landscaping, especially forground details.
Though, not really traditional Native-American garb at all, not even very George caitlian perception of what native dress is (19th century artist that gives us our modern perception of what Native American should look like very plainsy). Over 300 mainland tribes and they all have very different traditional dress styles.
Still, a thoughtful gift.

Indeed! I tend to be careful in my rendering of Native-American clothing myself. Although once about 4 years ago I went to one of the NA forums of G+ asking a question about the accuracy of a website that is /suppose to be making truly authenticate and historical clothing./
I was read the riot act by two there, asking what my desires were, and all sorts of suspicious questioning. They even went so far, as to accuse me of trying to corrupt people's minds. I received no support from anyone else, just silence. So I just left all NA communities on G+ after that, for I would not be raked over the coals over such an innocent question!
So now I ask some Cherokee elders I know about this. At least they know I'm trying to learn.

Dear friend (pun of course intended) the whitewashed crap ive been seeing spewed from a native american group lately has left me sort of dumbfounded. (Sort of topic sidetrack -my apologies) but ye gods (great mystery) how the hell do those claiming to be native display such *white* notions of our varied belief structure? My tribe is (spelling may not reflect the tribes spelling) cueal attolah or acjemenion. Mexican indian displaced to the bottem of California (later known as the mission indians) our tribes name directly translated is star children ... We are still waiting for the true elders to rescue us.. (Seriously no joking). How do whites interpret that? Sorry to seriously ramble here.
Firstly don' t apologize. For at times we all need to rant, for that's when the problems start to clear. But yes, I think more often it's a human problem, in which people use something to throw a fit over. (sighs) The only thing we can do, is distance ourselves and go elsewehre.
Sometimes I wonder and wish humanity would be rescued by a force that could do it, but I also wish I had an Anikawi lover too. But I don't think I'm going to get either :(
