Quite the wicked turnout hon. THe background accentuates it pretty nicely. The only thing that looks off to me is the perspective on the left arm, it looks somewhat fat and bloated compared to the other limbs. But then again yay for the confusion of Angle XD

Ah, but you're right. Foreshortening is my worst enemy. I just gotta practise my trial and error. ^_^

DRAGON! Ahem, sorry about that, but I love dragons (especially well drawn ones, like this one). I think that the left arm can be explained by the point of view that it's seen from. In any case, I like it (or should I say him) and I have this to ask; Is that a goatee? I didn't know dragons could have them. Gives him a sort of evil look...I like it. ^_^ I hope to see more of him in the future. (you can interperate that in anyway you want)

Yes, that's a goatee! My male dragons always tend to have one... I think it's kinda sexy. *squirms and blushes*

Say, have you ever drawn a Wyvren? They are a kind of dragon, but they have two legs and can't breath fire. That's all I know for sure about them, except that their appearances can vary.

Yeah, I've doodled some of those guys as well - though not as much as regular dragons. The lack of front legs makes them look a bit weird, I think. =)

I might have tried a few more filters to make the map look a bit more fitting. I dunno, it just seems like there is some noise around some of the line's edges, making them seem reder near the bottom, and bluer near the top.
Excelent combination of soft highlites and cell type shading =)

I fiddled with the RGB thingies to change the colour of the original map - it was blueish to start with. I've never done that before, so it was kinda new to me. =)

I wish I understood the channel colour options in Photoshop. They're kinda complicated. Also, my monitor is so old it sometimes twists the colours and contrast. I could use this way cooler monitor, but it doesn't fit on my computer table. Kinda ironic. ._.

you could have tried desaturating it, which gets rid of all the color, and then in the hue thing colorise it, making all the colors that orange or whatever you want.

Hmmm, oh yeah, I didn't even realize I could first make it greyscale! Dang. Next time I'll surely be smarter. At least I hope so. ^_^

The lag is pretty much gone during the morning hours, but unfortunately I always tend to sleep late. Being a night person there's nothing much I can do about it. <_<

I <3 dragons as well. Though most of the ones I draw on my spare time end up looking like they were suffering from some kind of a radiation disease. XD

Great thing about dragons is you can draw'em however I want, so I can get away with something like radiation exposure!

Nice design. The map does work quite well. Is the dragon faintly translucent in the wings? I think I can vaguely see the map through them :P.

Yub, that's intentional... Not sure if it was a good idea, but I wanted the wings to seem sorta leathery and thin.

Thanks! I drew this on a rugged paper. It already had a leathery feel to it when I scanned it so I decided to use very little colour. =)

Actually I did have something like that in mind. I thought the map on the background would make him seem more dominating. Also, I wanted the pic to have a certain "ye olde" look.

Fah. With the mistakes you see, you can improve yourself next time. No painting is 'flawless' and you'll always have critical eyes viewing your work, including your own. Just keep at it and you will find your skills will mature quite well!

The map is a medival Arabic map of some sort. I just changed the colour and stretched it to make it fit.

I've been drawing them stuff for many years. It's a hobby, sort of. I've done them a couple of covers, though I mostly concentrate on illustrating their short stories. I draw pics for many fanzines and the sort, but unfortunately there's no any money in it. Ah, maybe some day... ^^;;
