“Hah!” Nemui yelled triumphantly, swinging her staff with expertise as she finally eliminated the thirteenth wave of darkness with a final strike of light. This Dreamer’s mind seemed particularly hostile, the Nightmares were persistent and relentless, but Nemui felt certain she had finally put these creatures of the night to rest as the light burst outward, transforming the darkened canyon into a field of wildflowers.
She eased back, letting out a relieved sigh as she moved to take a break, resting her lithe frame down among the gigantic flowers. She smiled as she glanced around, giving a nod, before Nemui frowned.The beautiful landscape that had blossomed from the Dreamer’s mind was suddenly cloaked in shadows once again, thunder and lightning roiling in the darkened sky. She rolled her aching muscles and stood, clutching Lullay close and twirling the rod around the back of her hand as she prepared herself.
“Alright, it’s time I bring out a bit of help.” she whispered. She slammed Lullay onto the ground, a symbol - the constellation of Ursa Minor - appearing amidst the soil, before forming into a solid being. With a roar, the constellation took shape, bursting outward and materializing into a gigantic bear.
Quite ironically, for being The Little Bear, Ursa Minor was gargantuan; standing at at least 12 feet tall. He towered behind Nemui and let out a roar which rolled across the waves of shadow,rippling the terrifying tsunami of murky figures. Standing on his hindpaws and lifting his large claws to aid Nemui, the two shared a nod of understanding, before resolving to work together to cleanse this suffering soul.
“Let’s do this!!” Nemui yelled, diving into the watery darkness, a single beacon of blue light within the inky darkness. Relentless, these nightmares were.
But so was she!
