Khan'Ning IJFZQ-62
The IJFZQ-62 (Heavy Armored Tracked Combat Vehicle- Mass 62 Tonnes) was a heavy tank developed as a way to break out of the besieged city of T'Chong in 1930 B.C.E. and create an opening to relieve the city. The tank was designed to be simple to build, maintain and operate as much as possible which lead to much of the construction being flat and welded so time consuming molds didn't need to be made. The tank had a top speed of 40kph as it's best speed but 18kph on roads and 13kph offroad, though the mass of the tank was 62 Metric Tonnes the ground dispersion of the wide tracks and 8 road-wheels was relatively minimalized but still was prone to getting stuck in mud and sand.
History
The "62" began production in factories just to the East of T'Chong deep in thick woods under protection of aircrover and AA, where they were then sent nearly immediately to the besieged city of T'Chong to fight the Ko'Jame out. Once there they set up defensive lines around camps, HQs, factories, and other places of strategic and tactical importance and used as literal mobile bunkers, slowly rolling down streets, clearing the streets, absorbing fire to force the Ko'Jame to give away their positions. The "62" became an instant favorite among both it's crew and ground troops it supported with it's hard hitting twin 15mm MG's, thick armour, heavy armament, and the physiological effect on the enemy, but in the cramped city streets one large weakness was soon discovered, it's engine grates. As the tank need lots of torque the engine needed lot's of cooling and air to operate properly and that was solved by the air intakes on the back and on top of the engine deck (The top grates gave air to cool the radiators while the rear gave air to the engine) which made and obvious and weak area to strike the tank. Some crews jerry rigged solutions to try and fix this, some welded plates at a few centimeters off of the deck and at angles on the back to either deflect, absorb or detonate the shells before the got to close to the engine, which actually made to situation worse with Shaped Charged Warheads (HEAT/ High Explosive Anti-Tank) as the jet would melt the radiators, fans, and cooling system. One simple solution was welding those plates in directly on the deck and back was drilling out holes to let the engine still breath, this was later expanded on in the factories by just not cutting out areas in the back and top and just removing smaller holes and having thick mesh on the outside and slightly spaced from the hull, while not a perfect solution, this proved to be much better than the field solutions.
