Based on a blockprint by Japanese Arts and Crafts artist Yoshiko Yamamoto. Copper-foil technique, Youghiogheny glass (mostly). Hanging in my apartment window at the moment, hence the unsightly crossbars. I think I'm patently incapable of getting decent pictures of my work.
Finished a few months ago, and much better looking in person!

Thank you for the kind words! Magnolia's are something of a symbol of my family, and I've wanted to make this particular bit of art into a window since before I even started working in glass. It's been a wonderful experience for me putting it all together!
And let's see, as for cutting, I use a Toyo Pistol-Grip Oil Supercutter - I feel that the grip is more user-friendly and the fact that it lubricates makes for better lines overall. Amazon.com has them - http://tinyurl.com/ykfqcy5 - but I'm fairly sure most stained glass shops would have them, too. Thankfully glass cutters are cheap! I recommend trying both the pistol grip and a regular straight version, preferably a Toyo Acrylic Handle Oil Cutter, to see which works best for you personally. Aanraku makes a decent pistol grip oil cutter, too, but I don't care for the trigger - makes me feel like I'm using a watergun!
Do let me know if you have any questions about glass, I'm more than happy to answer them! Good luck with your adventure into glass - it's a wonderfully diverting hobby!
(Woops, managed to hit the wrong "reply" button the first time!)
