So, I had a bunch of stuff to deal with in relation to the beginning of the school year, and didn't upload stuff (also fell behind in terms of shipping out stuff I should have been shipping out, sorry about that).
So here's a pile of the stuff I've been working on since last time I posted anything. I'll start taking decent photos of the interesting stuff and posting them individually, but not now.
In no particular order there's a belt of Persian sheet weave, a set of four juggling cubes, a necklace of green and brown aluminum scales, a few dragonscale bracelets (both with and without rubber rings), a bracelet with colored rings in Japanese 12-in-2, arbitrary lengths of 12-in-2 and European 6-in-1, and a few assorted bracelets. I'm sure I'm forgetting a couple things, but it's still a decently large pile.

Not especially much, at least on a basic level. We've got nicer tools than they did, for one, and possibly nicer metal. Also more diversity of types of weaves; since it's primarily made for entertainment or decoration nowadays rather than stopping swords, people can spend time inventing pretty weaves that would be less practical for armor.

Soon I should be getting some kind of money in by this week. When I do, I'll be ordering some materials for sure so I can finally start work on chainmail too.
Erm... What would you recommend to use for this? Just any pair of needle-nose pliers and small wire cutters? I want to be sure I'm using the right equipment so I don't mess this up.

I just use a metal rod, clamping the wire in place with a pair of vice grips, and wind it by hand. If you want to be more efficient stick the rod into the chuck of a drill and clamp the drill to a work bench. (It's a more dangerous solution, but all the motorized solutions are equally dangerous.)
Um, it would depend on the type of weave? Between thirty and fifty dollars? (Because for a watch band, you would really want a finer weave than a lot of these.)
Although I would avoid doing something like this for someone else until I worked out how to deal with buckles. Also, it would be difficult to get it to be able to hold a watch without having the watch there when you were making the band.
