Meet Omnom The Venus Flytrap
Last weekend I got a Venus Flytrap as a birthday gift.
I've named it Omnom.
Say "Hello!" Omnom...
*nothing happens*
...Good Omnom! :3
I know, I know, it'll probably die within a month or something just because I suck at keeping living things alive for very long... but it's still cool, and it will live on in my memories, always! I'll do my best not to kill it though...

flytraps are easy to care for, I forgot to water mine when I went on holiday, and when I came back they were looking better than when I did water them
so, they're not gonna die even if you try

I've been reading up on how to take care of them, and everywhere I read I see stuff like "If you touch them they will die!", "If you give them anything but distilled water or rainwater they will die!", "If you feed them more than once every ten days they will die!", "If you don't create an artificial winter for them during November, December and Januray they will die!" and so on... kinda got me a bit worried that I'll cause some kind fo instant death for the poor thing. o_o
I've never done that
I'm always touching them and making them close, they just open up again
and I've never created an artificial winter.... but I suppose I don't need to where I live
the heads on plant die all the time
after about a week, the head dies and a new one grows, it does this constantly
you should water them from underneath though
fill the bowl under the plant with water once a week or so
you'll find they become a lot more healthy if you do that ^///^

i had one called hannibal once :) hannibal died cuz he had it SO good he made a flower. Apperently making the flower is suicide for venus flytraps XC
put omnom in the vwindow, make sure he/she always have water in the cup and dont set off the traps without putting a fly or something in it, then it should be a happy little nomnom

Aww, I'm sorry for your loss. :c At least he was a happy little big plant till the end! I hope Omnom'll grow a flower before he dies too... :<
I have him in the window, he always has water in his cup and I've only had one trap close so far and that was because I fed him a juicy fly! X3

Just out of morbid curiosity, did you end up killing Omnom?
I'm getting my own flytrap soon (Just ordered it this past weekend and it's in the mail). So excited!
I just hope I don't end up killing little Gozer. I don't have good luck with plants... I even killed a cactus once. >_<
