Appaloosian Archives: Titus and Vespasian Appaloosius
Another relic from the family archives: my grandsire Titus and great-grandsire Vespasian "Vess" Appaloosius, from a photo circa 1915.
Vess had a distinguished career as a lawman (a U.S. Marshal, in fact), covering the Western Territories, and was responsible for the capture of several well-known desperados. He is shown here with his son, on a trip to his old stomping grounds.
Titus, after failing to obtain a commission in the cavalry during WWI (due to an accident which left him slightly lame) went into business back East, and made a considerable fortune modifying automobiles for Centaur customers; unfortunately, much of that fortune was lost in the crash of 1929. He managed to recover , however, by turning to the new field of electronic engineering, in which he gained some lucrative defense contracts during WWII. He died in 1967 at the age of 80.

You'd think centaurs and The Wild West would naturally fit together. Though I suspect that at Bronco-busting, they're faking it a bit. LOL
BTW, Ever heard of Centaur Gatherum? Run a long time ago by some guy named Ed Pegg, Jr.? (I'd been trying to get back issues of CG for years). So who buys a centaur book from me on Amazon.com?
Yup. Small world, t'ain't it? :D

Oh, yeah: got a few back issues of CG myself. Unfortunately, it had folded shortly before I discovered it; but I sent a letter and some old sketches to
ponyguy, who had been editing it. My first contact with the fandom, in fact...... 7@=e
