Brewery: Wm. Magner Ltd.
Name: Magner’s Irish Cider (Original)
Style: Cider
Bottle: 12 oz
Appearance: sparkling apple juice. A dark amber. Good bubbles stream but goes flat quickly.
Pours: pretty smoothly.
Smell: Apples. And some faint fermentation.
Taste: a sweet but fairly neutral blend of apples. Of all I’ve had so far this one tastes the most straight up like, just, apples. There’s actually very little going on with this. I’m thinking some sparse notes plucked on some stringed instrument with long pauses for reflection.
Mouthfeel: There’s some pleasant sharpness on swallowing, and um, that’s it really.
Rating: 5.7 It’s a cider. It tastes like apples (and when it does it’s quite pleasant)..Part of the time. Otherwise there’s really nothing here. It’s a liquid to pour into your mouth. Honestly I can’t finish it, the ennui is too strong with this one.
