yeah that make sense.. sorry for the comments ..re reading it i get the feeling i could have written that in a way that sounded a bit less nitpicking and more like an observation

in any case now im wondering what kind of animal would the french had made the statue of liberty into.

Well the national animal of France is generally represented by the cockerel, so honestly an eagle is still pretty close, considering France both bankrupted themselves bankrolling the American Revolution and, like you said, built the Statue in the 1880s!
