Took a while to get my license, first in the states, then converted it to a local one. After some searching, found a bike perfect for beginners whilst being stylish enough for the road.
A Kawasaki W175.
Looks just like those classic cafe-racers from Britain in the 60's and 70's.

What happened was I had so many road rage encounters. People shouted abuse, tried running me over or ramming into me deliberately all the time. Almost had my bike stolen by a group of irritating college kids. That, and accompanied by insane insurance prices and a lot of irritating restrictions I thought it's not worth the hassle anymore.
Yep, unlike some US automakers, the Japanese take their auto manufacturing seriously. So their shit lasts longer.
They understand that tariffs and lobbying don't make good machinery, having to compete with other companies and innovating continuously does.
They also understand the importance of skilled labor for any industry, rather than goading youth to just get college degrees and become white/gold collar workers.

I would tend to agree. Most people with college degrees here never needed them, and it puts pressure on less educated workers and squeezes them out of the labor market. Better off with trade schools that teach useful skills. We have a lack of people who know how to do anything real anymore, and too many people with master's degrees pouring coffee.
When everybody has a college degree, the value of it drops to zero. Except for those who stand to gain from the sky high cost of college debt.
