She’s a fox, a fox with a hobby. A hobby which became an obsession as she lost all purpose in life beyond stalking another fox named Janet.
Nothing in Paige’s life has meaning, the people around her actors. Reading from their scrips, barely more sentient than an NPC in some video game.
Existing, just to exist. To populate the world, an illusion of life of meaning.
Was it all for her? Was she the only one with thoughts? The only real person, reality just a futile attempt by the chemicals in her brain to stave off insanity?
They say something’s only real, if its captured on film. She took up photography as a hobby, an attempt to capture something real. To find meaning.
To no avail.
Her emotions slowly faded, numb fluctuation in the chemicals which made up her mind. Nothing excited her anymore, nothing upset her. She was neither happy or sad. Just, numb. The world moving around her.
She stayed the same, everything moved on without her. Rotting away in some room, barely eating. Barely sleeping. Zoning out a lot, spending hours just staring at a wall. At a the light of her laptop screen.
Then she found Janet. She found something real.

I mean in a way Paige is sort of using Janet to feel real again, but Janet has 0 interest in like
having things not be exactly how she wants them
but Paige is getting what she wants out of it, i think
if it's actually healthy for her is another question

Healthy?
Well I said it was romantic, not healthy. People always cite Romeo and Juliet as romantic, but it's about two horny teenagers who get infatuated, make a series of hormone fueled bad decisions and kill themselves in a fit of shortsightedness.
I think the takeaway from this is, as far as I can tell as I'm not an expert on Vampires, only one of the parties has the power or a long term outlook.
Having said that, I feel like Paige is using Janet in the way that a person uses a dangerous drug; voluntarily to satisfy some need, and if I had to guess as some point down the road, not so voluntarily and no longer the one being served.
But it's not my story nor characters so I could be 100% wrong, just the vibe i'm getting.
Lovely art regardless.

Romeo and Juliet is basically a parody of infatuated love and everyone praises shakespeare for being so good with his words but even professors sometimes miss that Romeo's old girlfriend he was pining over was Rosaline and Juliet outright says "A rose by any other name would smell just as sweet" there is no way that wasn't intentional the entire play is one giant piss-take at romance. It was like how the Battleship boardgame movie was actually a super subtle SATIRE of american war movies because the aliens did nothing wrong and the humans were all jerkbutts.
And I mean, yeah, Paige is absolutely using Janet like a drug because Janet is the only thing that makes her feel alive at all anymore. It's just, the drug is sentient (maybe, Janet sometimes worries she's a philosophy-zombie) and once you do it once it actively seeks to control and enslave you and will kill you if you escape it. Nah you got it on the nose.
