Jutland Class BBC Interior W.I.P. 2 (Turret Housing)
An above view of a turret's control and firing room. The back is on the bottom and front on top. The front is home to the breaches, one of which I did open. After firing, the barrel seals up in front of the breach, lowers to a flat elevation, the breach is lowered slightly, opened up and reloaded which then sucks air out off the breach and reopens the barrel and ready to fire again. The "Gun Adjuster" sits in front of the turret at a station which allows them to slightly adjust the barrel's elevation or traverse (each gun has about 1 degree of traverse to each side) for more accurate shooting that can't be achieved by the turret's more wider area of movement, towards the rear of the firing room sit the loaders, gun captain, communications which stay in constant contact with the lower areas, bridge, and gun captain, and finally the systems checker who gives the all clear to fire. Behind the firing room are other systems checkers who keep track of the ever changing conditions like ship's roll, attitude, power levels, gun trajectory and positioning, and more. They make sure all systems are clear before they tell the firing room's system checker that all systems are good. And there are also the ladders to get below decks. The rest of the turret is taking up by electronics, power boosters and adjusters, rangefinders, super computers and more.
