My trip with the germies was once more made possible (without paying entrance fee that is :D) by Ans and as usual she requested me to paint her a seacritter she looks after at the aquarium. This time around it was a cuttlefish :> they're such moody things lol
It looks better irl, SCANNERS EAT ART!!! I always feel a little resent giving away my paintings, they're my babies. At least i know Ans will frame them so it's all good <3

fascinating... alot comes to mind looking at this. One, I like how you applied the fish head and guts and such in a mellow way: not too gory nor censored... it allows you to focus on the picture as a whole and not put all your attention on the fish bits. The work itself is clean, realistic, well proportioned, and colorful, and your shading makes the textures really pop out.
Also... Cuttlefish are moody? That's interesting to learn about them: I myself find them to be rather cute, but was never able to interact with one to see how they actually behave... I think you're rather lucky for that. I've also never seen them eat before, so this is interesting as well: I take it they snag things with those longer tents there? (he does look a bit moody doesn't he?)
Also, yeah, from the sounds of it your friend just wants to trade interests with you: she shows you her "art" and you show her yours... I bet she'd give you a sea critter if she thought it was for the best... all in all, it sounds like a fun adventure.
lastly... "SCANNERS EAT ART!!!" *laughs* amen. thats why I scan my rough pencilwork, then do all the inking and coloring digitally... at least until I can afford some sort of uber-scanner that allows me to transfer the full soul of traditional media... but yeah, you're not alone there:p
I love cuttlefish and well done art, so I will have to favorite this:) thanks for sharing!

Lol yesh fishheads not stealing the show this time
I guess moody wasn't the word I was looking for? Like, they can have very expressive moods the show in their behaviour and colours and such, I think that makes them cute as well. But I'm neither native to english or a seacreature like you so what do I know lol. I haven't had the chance to study them closely, but they're some great videos on youtube. I think they can extend those two bigger tentacles to grab something yesh

Nu uh! if its a big enough group they'll take bites out of me one at a time... that happened to a cuddle fisher. His boat capsized and it started a feeding frenzy on him. by the time they got to the body there wasn't enough left to give a positive identification without dna.
Now that's the stuff right out of horror movies. *shudders and clings to her bear* They are also spreading that is why they are such a threat to marine life.
They are like the humans of the sea. Eating anything they can get their tentacles on. *nods* I wonder if they would make good calimari. Cause I'd so do that ya know to help save the sea I mean
And I Learn-ed all this Via Discovery channel :D I luvs you Discover Channel *Hugs and noms* .... Syrup?

I might be mixing up the two, but there's a kind of fish that looks like that that turns black and constantly fluxuates colors. And of course, the first time I saw them it was on a nature program who covered them for about a minute and a half up close where the tentacles could scrape over the camera.
