That metallic sound, no car owner wants to hear.
Somewhat like a visual journal this week submission depict me as I found out that my suspension broke. And with that my valet broke too. Since all 4 wheels are in very bad shape because of more than 18 years of quality Hungarian roads did a number on all of them. If I want a reliable car which would stay on the road I have to replace everything. There goes the PC upgrade money out the window again.

I could but I don't have the tools and a proper place to lift the car. Only thing I can do is that I search and buy the part my self to save something if I can at all. An old car like mine surely will have some other issues what will come to light now that someone is looking under the hood. Price will rise I'm sure of it.
Dang, that'd need a weld for the mount but the other components are replacable easily enough.. Maybe you should consider commissions for a few slots or something, everyone loves your art, it's really epic :3 I'd love to throw money at ya too but I've a project car that has all my financial interests atm
True but for a nearly 20-year old vehicle to through everything it’s been through and still be going is a good car. A number of part in the suspension system have endured 20 years of punishment and only now has just failed.
I had my grandfathers 1989 Chevrolet celebrity Station Wagon (estates to europeans). The alternator and starter failed after 12 years. Those were oringal parts. The first brake line broke when it was like 14 years old and it was original. Where I live the winters are pretty snowy with a lot of road salt used. For a metal brake line to last 14 years of salt is nothing short of incredible.
A few years later I got a slightly newer 2001 Chevy impala. I only had it 4 months when it made a noise when I backed out of the driveway. A-when I got it checked, they said the car was very dangerous to drive. The driver’s side wheel was literally going to break off.

I know the feeling, long story short I'm separated from wife and living with a friend but about 50 miles away and incurs tolls. So I was going to buy a motorcycle because my truck drinks to much petrol. After paying off the last of a few medical bills I thought I was in the clear until yesterday when I found out I have two more medical bills to pay. Like you said money out the window.
Damn... and I thought I had issues just getting into the alternator on my '93 Volvo 240... every time I gotta change the belt, I gotta drain the radiator, take it out, take out the fan shroud, disconnect the airbox and battery, and THEN pull off the fan belt just to get to the two alternator belts behind it all while using a basic ratchet set and a piece from a 2x4 to lever the alternator and power steering pullies to put slack on the belts. Last time I had to make sure the belts were a matched set before putting everything back in (took literally the whole day to fight with), and then replace the radiator fluid and get the air out of the system so the engine can stay cool. I tell ya, I don't think the Swedes had serpentine belts in mind when they made my car. Twice now I've had to do the whole routine, first when the alternator froze, and again to replace the belts when they started squeaking.
