Ekay and the sergal child safely make their way out of the forest and its silk-producing inhabitants. Up ahead they can see a path that leads to an area where the grassy field parts way to a barren clearing. Suddenly, the sergal child freezes, prompting Ekay to become alarmed and ask if there was an issue.

Throughout page 33 and 34, keen eyes will have noticed the presence of some odd, seemingly fuzzy orbs that are floating by in the breeze. These are Talyxian spores from various native flora and are a common sight in the Northern regions.
