The Vim Pistol is almost silent when firing basic energy shots. There is an infinite capacity, however, this weapon can overheat. The red light above the trigger will light up if it is overheating. The top panel will then eject from the mechanism and allow the gun to cool down quicker. The barrel is not a suppressor, but an ultraviolet barrel to protect the user’s eyesight from eye damage of the laser projectile.
The lever on the backside of the pistol can be pulled back to charge up a single round for a more powerful shot. However, this can also increase noise. The user of this weapon can fire silently, making it a good assassin weapon, but a charged shot can be useful if the enemy target has body armor, also risking to blow the user’s cover. This weapon has little to no recoil when firing basic rounds. A charged shot offers some recoil.
Dr. Lawrence von Herregods, the CEO of Nexus Industries, has redesigned the original Maxim-Silverman 1896, into a brand new variant of the ‘Vim Pistol’ which he had lost during the 2013 Cyber War.
