A group of film-makers and artists have surrounded a random midwestern couple with cameras and lights and the like. The joke is they're trying to capture Americana and "common folk" experience, but the couple seem kind of bemused and really aware of the artifice

Ah okay, I see now! The colors and composition are really fun, and that's a good joke now that I can tell. I'm trying to put my thumb on exactly why it didn't read for me, I guess I thought Clinical Measurement Dog's proximity indicated the couple was there voluntarily? Anyway thanks for explaining!

Well, they're not being coerced exactly? I dunno. It was a stream of consciousness sort of painting, so I didn't really draw it optimally

Seems every country has a vanishing imaginary eden with specific folk attire attire and a bunch of documentarians chasing it... must feel strange to have guys with easels and cameras come into your life for the sake of the faraway audience. Must be like aliens.

And I love how searing this is! The Rockwell composition came off well, but may I also say you out-Grandma-ed Moses in some ways?

i love this piece. i can see it has many layers, in a visual sense as well as a symbolic, artistic sense. there’s some cool subject-object stuff going on. i won’t try to explain it but i appreciate it.
