A (non-furry) friend and I got to talking about what we'd be if we mashed two animals together. Predictably mine was a monkey-rabbit, a monbun. Then we got on to what these animals would actually be like, and my brain went off world building 'cause we've all gotta make our own species at one point right??

Monbuns are a collectivist culture known to claim entire forests as their territory 'cause their groups get so densely populated. They live primarily in sprawling tree-house cities and farm directly beneath them on the forest floor, hunting for meat outside designated farming areas being more for sport than anything else. But it's not frowned upon since they encourage lots of physical activity in whatever they do, and when work doesn't cut it they've invented games to pick up the slack.

They're considered master craftsmen and inventors, most of their contact with the outside world being through trading their carpentry and gizmos for ore and textiles. And, of course, exotic food. As long as they keep the peace outsiders are welcomed with open arms, but anyone who breaks the mold (even if it's one of their own) is treated with suspicion and disdain.
