Galener signed up to work for the Black Mesa Research Facility in the security department. Galener has skills with firearms and has worked security before so it was a good opportunity to take him mind off his break up. After all, he had to ensure the safety of all science personnel and science equipment at all costs, personal safety is of lowest concern. His job also required maintenance of computer systems and other machinery which worked out fine for Galener as he was pretty good with computers.

Galener arrived at the Black Mesa Research Facility in his new uniform ready to pick up his Glock 17 sidearm and ballistic vest to start his shift. Riding the tram system through the facility gave him time to reflect on past events and try and put the sadness behind him. He was going to be spending a lot of time in this place to escape from reality for a while to try and clear his head. He sighed, thinking to himself that he's not even sure how long he plans on staying here. Straightening his tie, in order to make a good first impression, he stands up from his seat and makes his way to the door of the tram. He steps off onto the small platform to the security station and knocks on the door.
He makes his way to his locker and picks up his vest before heading to the firing range. Collecting his Glock 17 sidearm, he takes a few practise shots. Satisfied that he still has what it takes, he heads to the desk, ready to head out on his first shift.

"Good luck out there" the security guard behind the desk says to Galener as he opens the doors. Galener gives a polite thanks and a nod towards the guard before heading out
"Lets see what's in store for me on my first day here. A nice start to clear my head. What could go wrong?" Galener says, trying to be optimistic as he heads out to face whatever his first day has in store for him

This was an amazing piece done by my good friend  fernley! I mentioned wanting some art of Galener wearing the Black Mesa Security uniform because when I go to conventions, I always cosplay as a guard wearing that uniform. So I had to commission him to do this for me and it turned out amazingly!
