Ah Katz, this is a character I've forgotten about for a long time.
He was designed to be a "weapon" of sorts, but he had a "bug" - he developed a conscious. He nobly takes up as being a soldier of sorts, protecting people instead of killing. Though he still has his "killer instincts". He has the ability to generate weapons and tools. Oddly enough though, said weapons and tools can only be formed from the medieval period.
I originally made him to be kind of a Frankenstein's monster of sorts, where he was alive but still "dead". But the idea gradually stopped appealing to me, and it seemed unnecessarily complicating. So I decided it would be easier, and funner, to make him be more cyborg-esque instead. It was pretty difficult to make him look robotic. Unlike Rita, who's more android, and wants to look more organic, Katz is kinda half-and-half. He has metallic joints, but is covered in artificial fur. I like the idea of him being "off," outside just as he is inside. Perhaps somewhat FnaF-like, but between his fake fur and his cloths covering a majority of his body, there was little I had to work with. Still, I think I did all right.
He's heavily inspired by Link from the Legend of Zelda series; specifically Ocarina of Time. Something about the Nintendo 64 giving Link somewhat mechanical animations, as well as his somewhat stoic-ness that appealed to me in a bizarre way. On top of the fact that it's the first time we get see Link in a very unique way from his previous games before, and it kinda left an imprint on me.
