When I do portray Clyde as a magic user, it's typically as an Earth magic user as well, with more than a bit of a 'green thumb'. In fact, in a story I've been writing up, he's the 'groundskeeper' at a place of... well, I don't want to say 'ill repute' since it does have quite a good reputation, but let's say that there there are many services available to interested patrons. A rather high-class place, you understand. One which is profitable enough to retain its own groundskeeper rather than hiring out that particular service.

And Clyde most explicitly does not work 'upstairs'. Mostly because he doesn't want his work to take all the fun out of his enjoyment. But hey... what happens after hours is nobody else's business.
