These are the stairs in my life
every step i take, brings me closer
the higher i get, closer to my future
my future is where i must go
but every step, takes me further
further away from my past
and the people i leave behind
every step i take, brings me closer
the higher i get, closer to my future
my future is where i must go
but every step, takes me further
further away from my past
and the people i leave behind

I put alot of time and effort into all parts of the picture, it took me ages to make a brush to look like clouds. while i agree they do look a bit flat, i am still pleased with the way it fits in without dominating the overall picture and diverting the eye away from the actual drawing
i know you won't reply to this- people like this rarely do, but i have to tell you that i hate it when people like you bash artists who are honestly trying
if you're going to tell him he did it horribly wrong- tell him what it was he did wrong, so he can improve it next time- or don't YOU know how to fix it?
Please refrain from commenting if all you can contribute is bashing an artist who honestly didn't know how to draw the stairs.
That isn't being helpful, its being mean for the sake of being mean.

The face and head looks great sweety! >^.^< i think you did pretty darn good with him- you just need a lil more practice drawing the actual body.
*I* will tell you what is wrong with the stairs *rolls her eyes at gore*
I know you hardly EVER look at stairs from the side, but if you could- you would see that you don't see the top of the stairs (example- hold a small box up to your eye level, can you see the top? probably not, all you can see is 1-2 of the sides) , in this case you would draw a thin (or thick) horizontal cloud for each stair- no daigonal, or anything, then draw then going up as steps- the rail looks fine, but with a side view of the railing, and a top view of the stairs- that makes it look really funny.

well, that IS the way to make it look 3d, becuz the way you drew it here, while a good effort, only looks unrealistic, to help make it look more 3d, you'd have to make it a more aerial view of your character- the "camera" angle being more from the top to show more of the top of the stairs- try looking at a set of stairs from different points of view sometimes- when drawing things like this, its usually very easy to find a reference for just stairs, to see how they would look from thsi view or that.
