As much as Alurine appreciates the attention, she cannot tolerate the occasional creep (and a majority of straight, bi, or pansexual men) with no sense of boundaris, manners, honor or humility. Being fairly alone, vulnerable, and having few friends in her childhood, it's hard to shake off that sense of insecurity.

Knowing she does this herself sometimes though, along with her appearance at times sending mixed messages, she feels like a hypocrite and hates herself for it. She wants to open up, but has a general distrust of those who approach too eagerly, and unfortunately is forced to uphold a force field made of fear. She does this more so with children, as she distrusts their innocence.

Her 'friends' list may seem plentiful these days, but she plays with very few. Even then, she expects them to leave her, considering such relationships fleeting and unworthy of investment.
