This is a beautiful picture. I really love formal wear on anthro characters.
Lol, but get this - if you had to pick a style and colour of Victorian clothing, you couldn't have found a gayer one. Except back then, "Gay" just meant someone happy and friendly. :9
The open lapels and belt, the frilled collar of your shirt and the body pose would have made you stand out very much in a time where, to have your picture taken, it was common to stand up straight, look as haughty as possible, and NOT smile. Blues and purples, however, were considered very flaunting colours as they were the most expensive to find and produce. Very few people wore them, and almost never on a daily basis. It'd be like walking out on the street and saying, "I'm richer than you and I party all the time." England had a very heavy class system, and what you wore as well as how you spoke defined your position in society, as well as your job, who your parents were and who you knew.
Also, for "gross indecency" (homosexual activity), which was considered a mental illness and was illegal at the time, you would be imprisoned and given steroids to subdue your libido (giving you boobs was a side effect). D:
Sadly though, if you went out dressed that way today, it would be the same DX
