Lesson of the day!
The jutte or jitte, literally meaning "ten-hand" ( the weapon with the power of ten hands), is a specialized weapon which was used by law enforcement officers (called okapiki or doshin) during Edo period in the history of Japan. Nowadays, the jutte is the subject of the Japanese martial art of juttejutsu. It can be used to grapple, block, and even break swords.
The Giant Jutte is about.... i'll say roughly 3 to 3 1/2 feet long (since i have nothing to measure out the length) from butt of the handle to the tip. It can be used as a blunt object (like a baton or billy club) and possibly have its edge sharpened to make it an offensive weapon. As a defensive weapon it can block, parry, and even break some swords.
One 'could' weild two so they can block and break the opponents sword as they defend and then launch a counter attack.
I may eventually add this into my stroy School of Fighters Alternate Universe even though my character "Angela" carries a 'large Jutte' that is almost as long as she is tall. So having some that are smaller would be good to level stuff out. Possibly may even find some way to make it where she replaces her large one with something close to these.
Enjoy~
NOTE: I am trying to get Chapter Nine of School of Fighters Alternate Universe typed up but I keep getting writers block or having to do something else because i am at college.

Ah, I know these weapons. I breifly studied Japanese matial weapons while I was working on my degree in weaponology (which I quite after three months). These weapons were favured by the Japanese Secret Police officers, and a wide-bladed non-lethal version was popular amoung expearienced officers. I've forgotten the Japanese name for them, but it translates to 'truncheon blade'. These blades were some-what flexible and could be addapted to an exellent weight loss tool that officers could use if they ever had a spare moment. The idea is you hold two of them in your hands with one blade pointing upwards and the other downwards, and with a firm ossilation from side to side. As the blade flexes in one direction you force you arms in the opposite direction, and if done properly, you should achieve a harmonic motion from left to right. This takes many hours of practice to perfect, and is far more tiring than it sounds. The one man I met who could actually do this could easily bench press 150 kg. Thats about the weight of a LARGE man. Impressive.
Oh no, it was the most fun thing I've ever done! I got to stand in armouries all day and take notes on how the guns felt. I even got to fire an old bazooka from WWII. I only quit because I found out there was next to no call for such a profession these days. Besides, I learned bassically everything there was so I didn't really need the degree in the end.
