This here was the first giftart piece I ever got to work on. One of my favorites, too, aside from messing up the left foot.

This one's for Simply Asa on dA, who wanted to see my take on Emilia. Emilia appears in Brazilian children's books and a TV show based off of them in this style's case. Monteiro Lobato is her creator and he's considered to be one of the most influential writers in all of Brazil. The series is called Sítio do Picapau Amarelo, or Yellow Woodpecker Ranch.

I had a look at the TV show and it honestly looks pretty adorable. Emilia in particular is this fun, childish character in this colorful, cute little show.

In this picture's case, she's apparently been oversleeping, because somebody's giving her a wake-up call in the only way my gallery knows how. I found it amusing that she sleeps in a toy chest, so I gladly incorporated it here.
