In a world of endless disappointments, Turbo the Porcupine remains a constant in that. Recently however, a new title arose from the ashes of this dying series like that of the mighty phoenix, much to the surprise of everyone who heedlessly keeps buying these games despite their predisposition to hate them indiscriminately. I'm talking, of course, about Turbo Frenzy, a game so bold, so cutting edge, so unique that it dared to do the same crap that was done 20-years-ago! Gone were all the mistakes of "modern Turbo", no more light purple legs, no more black eyes, no more poor character redesigns, just good ole' cheaply designed, green-eyed, black-leg goodness to remind us that the only way to advance as a species is to bury our heads in the sand a desperately pine for days gone by, even if that means recreating those days so that we may never crawl out of the rut that is our sad daily lives.
Thank you Turbo, for granted us a reprieve from new ideas and concepts. As fans, we know better then the hard working developers what is truly the best for this series! It was built on a very specific ideal that we loved as children and refuse to accept that we're the ones that got old, not Turbo! Getting to replay through half of the original three games in Frenzy was amazing, it felt just like when I play through the original three games which I still own to this day and just when you thought it couldn't get better, they recently announced a new version; Turbo Frenzy: Addition by Subtraction! It's the exact same game, but features two otherwise forgotten all-stars as playable characters for the first time in years. I'm referring, of course, to Cool Cat and Awesome Possum (who kicks Dr. Machino's butt) both of which will feature absolutely no change in game play aside from an aesthetic one, just as a good game should be designed!
