not gonna lie; I only spent two years living in Texas, but my dad lives there and I visit him regularly[we're in Sulphur Springs], so Texas is my second home-
-watching the rescue efforts from people all over Texas during Harvey was affirmation as to why I love Texas as a whole. and everyone else who stepped in to help others, thank-you for being amazing and for demonstrating the unconditional love and Texas spirit in times of adversity.
also, this piece is lovely and captures the emotion and the feeling of triumph and pride in the face of hardship.

Harvey SUCKED. We had to evacuate, but we got lucky. Our complex took on A TON of water, but our home was safe on the top floor. I had lived in Houston my entire life and never experienced a flood that affected such a massive part of the city. Pick a direction and drive an hour, and there was still water O.o
