Aaand it's time to post part 2 of my commissions for the wonderful
Kaz-- of more minotaurs! This gorgeous fellow is based on a Spanish fighting bull phenotype, with elegant curves in his forward pointing horn, strong muscles, and a sleek, shimmering black coat. Yet again I wound up running with a fairly classical throwback palette to old oil paintings, vaguely Renaissance-esque, and I could not be happier with it. Seriously, I hope I get to paint more minotaurs again some day. They're so damn pretty and yet they're incredibly sparse in the fandom? A shame, if you ask me!
Happy Monday, everyone!

Again, so so so happy with this piece! I loved the muscles and the unusual position showing them off, the way you manage to give his coat that shine and feeling of sleekness as opposed to Kaz's more dense and shaggy coat. His face and expression and demeanor are wonderful, and I know those horns were a challenge! Thank you for plugging away at them! I totally want you to paint Blackavar and his human mate, with their gaggle of children both adopted and natural (a collection of minotaurs, humans, and one feline-flavored half elf) someday, but that's going to take saving up on my part, there's so many of them. Still, it will happen!
