Me too Meanbeard as incredible as it may seem I liked this "horrible monster". I liked the concept of this character. Unlike the current Hulk the Hulk 2099 had no pretense of looking "cute" he was created to look intentionally completely "wild" and "brutal" because after all he was the Green Giant of a future nothing beautiful so for me his "brutal" and "barbaric" look worked perfectly for him as "Hulk of the Future" but strange as it may seem.
His look pleased me. He was Marvel's "Pitt" (you may know The Image Comics "Hulk" who is one of my favorite heroes created by Dale Keown) and in my case worked with him the “Beauty and the Beast” logic that the real beauty is from within and despite its monstrous appearance I could see a certain beauty in the character and it was the heroic acts of the Hulk 2099 as a hero that I saw and admired.
I must be one of the rare, even told Internet readers who think so and liked of the Hulk 2099 because he is one of the Trolls' favorite targets when looking for a forgotten superhero to mock and make fun. Or simply I must have a "really bad taste for heroes" anyway. But I liked that "big badass horrible big guy" hours balls. He was a hero and heroic when they needed him so even though no one else likes him I certainly do this drawing to honor him.

Yes Meanbeard he was monstrous. But he was also a hero in every sense of that word. I remember his adventures and how he acted nobly and heroically in a world where heroes did not exist and acting in a noble, morally brave and honorable way were considered "childish" and how he seemed so much more integrate to me than everyone else around him.
The 2099 Hulk, despite being a monster of brutal and horrible appearance, had a whole connotation of inner heroism and integrity that I admired and were what I saw in its stories. It pains me to this day to remember his death shot by gunshots and stuffed with holes in his body as if it were so ridiculously easy to kill a Hulk.
But well ... Bruce Banner was "apparently killed" with a special arrow of Hawkeye so I can't say anything. But I get sad when I remember how he died in 2099 A.D. Apocalypse I liked him and seeing him die in such a pathetic way was cruel on the part of the writers. But it is already done and nothing else can change that fact. And at least in alternative timelines variations of the year 2099 he is still alive.
