Well... I suppose it all began with the Thursday Prompt suggested by
diggergallin which produced this story which brought forward the Humane Society.

We recently lost our Husky, Blue. We talked about this, as we always miss all of our dogs, but Blue was quite special. Then there was an article in the newspaper (we still get one) about a stray Husky that was hit by a car and then airlifted to a Husky Rescue group nearby. We put in to adopt her but she was actually adopted by the medical tech taking care of her. Then... up pops a note from the Humane Society about a Husky brother & sister that had been turned in and they needed to be adopted as a pair since they had been together since birth (five years) and were very attached.
There is a longer version to this story, but suffice it to say the timing was perfect and everything went very smoothly. They came home with us in a way that almost suggested pre-planning by a higher power with a sense of humor. We have named the boy Maui and are still trying to think of a name for the girl.
They are such a sweet pair.
Soooooooo... yes I am going to be a bit busy in the coming weeks.
*hugs to all...

What a cutie. You could call the girl Kapalua or Kapa for short. I found this name a few years ago when I was looking at Hawaiian names and apparently there is a place called Kapulua somewhere in Hawaii in Maui

Yes there is some irony it this... You were looking to add to your pack by A dog... the powers of the paws that be, made it a pair! You are going to have your hands full! You are lucky you have had a Husky before so you have an idea what you are in for... Just remember what ONE doesn't think of, the other WILL!
Good looking furry kid you have there...

Ahh yes, the fun of talking and singing sled dogs! I have found they all differ on if they like toys... Sky oh yes... he stashed his on my side of the bed to keep them away from Tundra. When we first got Tundra, she ripped open two of his fave toys. He walked over to Tundra bit her and snatched one of his toys from her. If we got Sky a toy with a squeaky and Tundra got a hold of it she would rip them up till it stopped squeaking... With Sky when he got into trouble he would attack just one of his squeaky toys... that he deemed lower ranking then he was...
Sage she just rips them up... till they stop working them shes not interested in the toy.

Oh goodness... did they sing last night. Until they get used to the other two dogs we have, (Dexter is about the size of a toy.) We have them sleep in two very large cages in the family room... and they sang like prisoners in an old movie. Maui loves toys. He's snoozing with one now. The female will play with one but then ignores them.
The English Bulldog we had loved those rubber pigs. She was hysterically funny with them.

No, you weren't going to leave without those two, if this one is any indication. That's a sweet face, and those beautiful dark eyes...! Is this the boy or the girl?
Well, if you've go a Maui, how about a Hilo? Perhaps Oahu, (Kauai sounds too much like Maui), or maybe Lanai?

Beautiful! No wonder you couldn't resist. And huskies just have to be one of the most attractive breeds; everything about them just looks right.
Do both of your new dogs have the same golden/brown eyes? There is so much variation, with some even having eyes of different colours (which is kinda weird and wonderful at the same time.)

Adorable.
To pair with Maui name that immediately jumps out is 'Waui'
Have to go with
grendelair on this one.
