I think I did this cause the fact remains, no matter what I do to cheer somebody up, help somebody out or care about somebody....falls upon certain people who just have to open their damn mouths and verbally shit on everything.
And yes, those words have been thrown at me, and in some cases, the person I'm helping in question as well.

BoilerRoo a couple folks bitched about it big time to her about it, but not me directly. Its like they enjoy to shit upon others happiness. I'm still bothered by what a couple said, and oddly credit me for what others have said standing at my table.

Mavraster Poor dear suffered a serious stroke and I will do anything to help her. But no, I'm a horrible person cause I am making folks aware of what happened.
But much like when my sister passed away, when somebody asked about how my brother-in-law was handling her passing shortly after her death. I mentioned that he was handicapped in a wheelchair (and instantly hear a 'GAHHH' from behind me.) and trying to cope. Only to hear 2 days later after the con was over that two furs openly and loudly bitched I said 'handicapped', calling me Abilist. Plus they openly lied saying they asked me "repeatedly to watch my mouth and I ignored their sensitivities." They never ONCE said any such thing to me. Because I would have cooperated fully had something like that happen.
But no, some people just have to fling their accusations about freely and don't care the results of their finger pointing.

I find this interesting because that is exactly the kind of thing Rabbi Tom is pointing out. Frankly you obliterated any chance of being listed to in pointing and name calling. No reason happening here.

Google "horseshoe theory": extremists on both sides are far closer to each other than they are to the center. (and guess who profits from encouraging them both?)
This is not to say that the current Democratic Party wouldn't benefit from including the Progressive movement. Heaven knows, we need a viable Left.

You would be a little late to the party there, as that has been going on for decades, at least as far back as I can remember. But technically the opposite of 'Progressive' would be 'Regressive' correct? If you want to drag conservatives over the coals as a retort, that would be a more appropriate response if I went after liberals, but at this point even liberals I know hate new wave progressives more then I do.
Never said that the super regressive folks were any better. Both extremes ARE bad, but we are seeing such a big shift over the past 5 or so years that even people who used to be left of center are now considered 'far right'. When you see progressives running around calling everyone they even remotely disagree with a 'nazi' and a 'racist', its getting horribly out of control, but just because I hate their guts does not mean I'm going to go seek refuge with the likes of Newt Gingrich or Dick Chaney.

Third, be part of the good, normal, decent, courteous, and courageous Opposition that has to push back against the miserable, snarling busybodies that seem to infect our society these days. They are ashes and dust and are not worth a scintilla of your attention or any reaction whatsoever.

I suggest that you just ignore them, Jim. If anything, they do not know who you are, and probably don't want to know who you are. Else, if they did, they would likely find out what a bunch of jerks they really are, and may have to take a real good look at their own rotten souls. (If they have any souls, first.)

I love that all the "victims" in this are doing totally innocent things and saying nothing, as if they were just being targeted out of the blue by Big Liberal Meanies. But every -- single -- goddamn -- time I've seen someone whine about being "oppressed" like this, it's turned out that, yeah, they had said some pretty nasty things after all, and just refused to take any responsibility for them.
Anyone who seriously believes this kind of bad behavior is purely characteristic of one political wing, and not humanity in general, is just plain delusional. And I've SEEN how you've addressed people in the past with whom you didn't agree, so it's hard to scrape up a lot of sympathy.
My honest advice for you, Jim, is to enscribe Matthew 7:3 on a 3 x 5 index card in your finest calligraphy, roll it up tight, and cram it straight up your nose. *nod*

I have heard people make comments like this a few times... I had to keep my hands in my pockets and away from my fanny pack... because I wanted to hit them with my fanny pack.. or use what IS IN the fanny pack... People like that are so much a wast of skin... One can only hope they have to faces something nasty all alone, so they can have their own words come back to them in the same cutting remarks.

Despite all I've heard of your past, of your failings, of your actions, and the way some remember you, I see you for who you are in the present and and what I have seen of you in person, and I say you are a good man, one undeserving of the hate thrown at you by the ignorant and hateful. I don't regret having lended a hand when you needed it most, or offered to get you something to brighten your day. You were never negative towards me and always saw to have a good time. Keep on being the good man you can be, because it the end, the kindness will be rewarded.
Some people can't tolerate seeing others happy or doing good things, it reminds them of how little good they have put into the world (if any) and how much bad they've spread (and contain). I think they need to be sat down to watch every single episode of Mr. Roger's Neighborhood, and other wholesome things until all the putrid vitriol is washed from them.
