I have not decided. I've yet to even come up with a good color scheme for the uniforms.

There's a lot of Sci-Fi material out there, live action, anime, video game, etc... Various sources to acquire inspiration. For example I watched an anime ones where they used a combination of white, black and yellow/gold which looked pretty good. Another variation was red with black and yellow/gold or white instead of the yellow/gold. There were also a few uniforms using a combination of white, black, grey and red.

Yah, saw that mistake after I posted, but too lazy to fix. That's the Spanish word for "Colonel"; definitely a subconscious substitution.

The only (hopefully) useful comment I would make is to make sure that there is a clear distinction between the enlisted and commissioned officers.
Troops need to be able to tell at a distant glance whether they are talking to a Lieutenant, or a Sergeant 1st class.

The only thing I want to noted is that there seem to be alot less enlisted then officers... is there that much a jump in differences? Or was the Senior Enlisted Teir just left out?

I'm not going for the same rank scheme as it exists in the US Army. Rank is merely an upwards scale, with no such thing as commissioned and non-commissioned officers.

Also, one of the reasons I am using the same names as the Army is because it is easier for people to understand. Were I to come up with my own names, people would surely go "Huh? Was Rank5 before Rank3 or after Rank8?!?"

Hey, at least I didn't use the same insignia! XD To me that would had been way too much, IMO.

True, true... but knowing that you don't have officers and NCO's and the like actually makes it easier to understand, and, IMO, makes a lot more sense :)

I have somethng like this, only it has to do with the supernatural. these ranks seem easier to understand as well.
