もうがまんできない!!
Hey y'all! You Know who this is? This is King Kombo! He's a cereal mascot! You probably never heard about him since the cereal Kombos was only advertised in Japan!
takahershey one of the artists that I recently watched, said how Konana reminds him of Kombo. When I looked him up, he seriously does looks similar to Konana! Fur and skin! Mind you he came out way before Konana did. I didn't think of him at the time. I was also desperate to check out the Kombos commercial! I tried looking on Youtube, it was nowhere to be found. So I checked on Nico Nico Douga, found them, watched them and had an instant fangasm! X3
I have a another gorilla character to be a fan of! Why? Well let's see here: he's a gorilla, he's blue, he's a gorilla, looks very toony (since the commercials are animated in a western style aka cartoony), is a gorilla, and is awesome! Did I mention he's a gorilla? X3
Oh and what's he's saying in the word bubble is his catchphrase whenever he sees a bowl of Kombos and at the end of the commercial. I don't know what he says but I'd be grateful if someone could tell me what he says! Anybody wanna see the commercials? I saved them to my flash drive! What? I don't have a problem! Really! *twitches* Anyway hope all enjoys!
Info about him can be found here, but it's in Japanese: http://www.kellogg.co.jp/products/m.....eum/vol02.html
Anybody want to see the commercials? If you want, note me so I can email them to you!

No problem! Man, I also can't stop watching this piece! I swear that this deeply reminds me great nostalgia back in 1990s when I had great summer trips in Japan! My cousins bought this for my siblings and me while we were homestaying at their resident! The cereal tasted absolutely superb! Kombo was like frosted flakes w/ chocolate flavor, yet it had some unique textures!

Well it's not like they was ripping off of me. Bear in mind that Kombo was made in the 70's. I wasn't born yet thus Konana was not thought of. And during the times when the commercials did air, I not aware of his existence. So Konana was not based off of Kombo or vice-versa. Merely a coincidence! lol! Thank you for the compliment! And yeah I have a tendency to mix up to match color of the background with my characters! X3
OH wow? I miss out on seeing this till we can embed Youtube into a journal and I am just now seeing this thanks to that. Man, did you do a great job on drawing him. If one didn't know better, this could be where "Go Go Gorilla Power" Came from, but you didn't even know about this gorilla. What great job again you did on him.
