Skiltaire mythology includes a story about how solitary individuals who have a successful lifestyle can come together and form a society where everyone benefits from each other's skills and traits. The simple tale includes 4 beings, each representing an aspect. Bright, Dark, Warm and Soft. The story does not indicate type (Aquatic/Arboreal) or gender of the members of the tribe. Skiltaire don't bother with gender as a definition of role.

This sketch was done in 1991, after several attempts to capture The Four. It was lost for years, and recently rediscovered. I intend to do more with these guys/girls, but for now, I'm posting the sketches.

The 4 Aspects almost compare to the 4 houses of Hogwarts (Harry Potter), but were developed long before the HP stories were written. It's an interesting coincidence that my RL family has always had 4 members...

This is Warm, the hedonist. Warm believes in enjoying life and taking things easy. Berries, nuts, tubers, bugs and such taste great and don't give you much of a fight.
