I wish I could summon the words to write something a little longer and telling, but this is all I got.
My dad and I are pretty different, and he was always the dad who worked all day, and never really got to know his kids ... I suppose you see it all the time these days. He and I only started getting close after ... I was already a man, myself.
We've had a couple scares recently, that's all ... so he's on my mind. Even though the guy takes great care of himself these days, he's always telling me *not* to end up like him. >.>
Anyway. We both at least share one thing in common - we sure talk down to ourselves a lot :/ .
In the mirror, mom's alluring eyes
Are judging my father's scarecrow hands,
Dusty and shaking,
As I repeat his sad advice:
"Use me as an example."
