“Until you’re broken, you don’t know what you’re made of. It gives you the ability to build yourself all over again, but stronger than before…”
They were close; she could hear them coming in the distance. They were maybe 200, maybe 300 yards away, and they made no attempts to muffle their steps. She could even hear a few of them boisterously laughing in the distance, apparently celebrating their imminent victory.
It would only be a matter of time now and she was in no condition to fight, though it did not seem like she had a choice in the matter. Easing herself onto the ground, she examined herself to see how badly she was injured. A few hours ago, she had been ambushed by a haughty group of thieves thinking she was easy prey, not realizing whom they were dealing with-
…they learned the hard way, just like everyone else that wrongly crossed her path. Nonetheless, fighting nine men at once is hard, even on the strongest warrior. They had even managed to get a few good blows on her, causing some severe lacerations and injuries. Nothing life threatening, but she definitely could not stand another fight like that one for a while, at least until she had time to recover. Which unfortunately, would not be right now…
Apparently one of the bastards had managed to escape, as she could hear his familiar voice, along with several others approaching in the distance- they were going to attempt to ambush her once more, but this time with more force. Using her finely tuned ears, she tried to determine how many were heading towards her: four…six…possibly more? Regardless of how many were approaching, it did not seem good and she needed to make a decision quick. She could run, but not very far in her present condition. She thought about hiding, at least until her wounds healed up and then track them all down and finish what she started. The latter seemed like the logical choice yet-
Using one of her katanas as a crutch, she shakenly stood back up…one more time. Smiling at the face of evil and impending death, she prepared to fight until either they went down, or she did. If she was going to die, she was going to die a warrior’s death: in battle doing what she loved…fighting.

A wonderful commission I got from amonir. I know, I just commissioned her recently but I saw this ych and had to have it! Afterall, Whisper IS a warrior so I could not resist something so suiting to her persona-
Even the best warriors face opponents that catch them off guard sometimes, and Whisper is not different. She has her faults (classified, but she definitely has them) and sometimes her foes use them against her. Nonetheless, Whisper is stubborn, VERY stubborn, and will fight anyone until the bitter end-
…don’t worry, Whisper will be fine. It takes more than some wannabe baddies to take down a badass kunoichi. That and she is part feline- I think she may have multiple lives going for her *that probably explains how she has survived so many brushes with death in the past*

"The true test, is not in comfort and convenience. But in times of test and trouble plus seemingly impossible odds." Yes, exactly! It's like I was telling my friend above, sometimes a little challenge is GOOD for Whisper! It drives her to push herself to the best of her abilities so she does not get too comfortable or confident in her skills.

Well I try not to give Whisper "God mode" type abilities where she is undefeatable, otherwise it would be unrealistic (well I guess anyone taking on multiple foes and living might fall into that category but this is a fantasy). Nonetheless, I try to give her -some- realism to where she is capable of being injured, succumbing to danger, and having flaws so things are not too predictable for the reader/watcher.
Besides, she likes a good challenge, otherwise she gets bored, lol
