Island Otter and Male
Feast
As it turned out the exploring had to stop after a little bit for Nicholas and Kalea. Leilani caught up to the two and talked to the first female sea otter in the native tongue quickly. The second sent a smile to the fosky before heading on her way. “What was that about?” the male asked the female with him.
“A Welcome Feast,” she replied. “For you and friends.”
“Sounds like fun.”
“It is. Come.”
Kalea led the way with the sun already beginning to set. “Damn is it getting dark already?” Nicholas asked. She just looked back to him with a smile.
They made it down to one of the beaches. Already there was a bon fire roaring that was large and it lit up the faces of the young and old, otters and other species alike that were sitting theater style. There was quite a bit of space between them and the fire. The fosky saw his captain and the rest of the crew had already gathered. “I see you soon,” Kalea told Nicholas and went to the side. The male shrugged and joined the rest of his crew.
“Ah Nicholas, bratha!” his captain said and made room for the young male to sit.
“Thanks,” the fosky replied. “So… I take it this was arranged for us.”
“It was by the chieftain here. Leilani’s father, Sachem Ahomana. He insisted and I couldn’t say no.” Right on cue a powerfully built male otter with long black hair and the same eye and fur color as his daughter stood up with a tribal head gear to show his status.
“To our guests, welcome,” he said loudly and with power. “Tonight, we feast to greet them. And so we have some dance for them to start. Burt first three need to come up.” To Nicholas’s surprise, his captain, another of the crew, and himself were chosen. The black furred otter sat down in the space between the fire and the audience first.
The other otters clapped and let out sounds of excitement. Music began to play out on flutes and drums which combined slowly to form a rhythmical melody, very tribal in its nature. And stepping into the light of the fire first was Leilani. She began to dance in a traditional tribal dance. After a bit, the sea otter stepped to the side but continued to dance and the captain was switched with the crew member. Malana then came out and when she was finished, the second female stepped to the side but continued to dance. Nicholas traded places with the crew member just in to see Kalea emerge into the light of the fire. While her top and bottom were the same color she now had a crown of flowers in around her head as did the other two. Even her hair was different like it shown a bit more even in the braid. The fosky’s eyes were just glued to Kalea and her moving figure, her swinging hips, and moving hair that all shown in the fire. The female sea otter caught his gaze and her smile got even wider. The song then came to an end and the audience all applauded for the three performers.
All the dancers went to sit by the fire as did the rest. The fosky found Kalea sitting next to him and Leilani next to his captain. The male noticed how that sea otter and the black one seemed very cozy already in the other’s company. The female next to him then tapped him on the shoulder to make him look towards the center to see the chieftain of these native sea otters stand up with his arms spread out once again. Leilani looked up to him with a look of admiration as did Kalea. “Now we enjoy the feast.” He then sat down and began to talk with the fosky’s captain and his daughter.
“He seems well liked,” Nicholas whispered to the sea otter next to him.
“He chieftain,” she replied. “He strong and brave. He a good leader.” Kalea then looked to Leilani. “She so like him and will be a good leader for us one day.”
“Oh?” the fosky commented. “So that makes her somewhat of a princess I guess.” The female with him let out a giggle. “What? It’s how I view it.” She smiled at him and passed over some of the food to Nicholas. Kalea began to eat but couldn’t help but look at him every now and then. Nicholas was like that as well.
“Well it seems you’ve gotten quite friendly with one,” said a male voice in a heavy Cajun accent but could still be understood. The fosky and sea otter looked to see a male coyote with tan fur and light brown hair that was that almost went to his shoulders. Each of his ears had an earring and his eyes were light blue. “Must be fun, no?”
“Remy McCoy,” Nicholas replied. “I figured you’d be with the females already.”
“Yeah, but this time I take my time with them.” His gaze then went over to Malana and saw her sitting pretty much by herself. “Then again, perhaps I find one that could have my time.”
“You mean Malana?” the fosky asked, looking towards the said sea otter and then to Kalea before asking her. “Is that a good idea?”
The female shook her head but with a smile. “A risk,” she told Remy. “She bad and short tempered. In good way for first.”
“Maybe I like risks, bad girls, and danger,” the coyote stated. He smirked and the two saw him walk over towards Malana.
“Don’t mind Remy,” Nicholas said to Kalea. “He’s like that with the females. He flirts a lot but he’s a good guy.” The female sea otter saw the two were talking and everything was going just fine. “Although I got a different feeling this time when he talked about her. Maybe he’s serious about her. Who knows?” Kalea just continued to eat and thought about that information. Her friend Malana also didn’t have anyone like her and Leilani. But the first sea otter had also lost her virginity. Malana didn’t have sex or relationships that much due to her nature. It was going to take a very special male for certain to get with her. The rest of the meal went by without incident and when it was over, everyone went back to either the ship or their hut. But the fosky and Kalea knew this was just day one and there would be many more with excitement.
