Skid Row Daily Newspaper - Little Shop of Horrors
posted 7 years ago Writer...I guess?
This was the Skid Row newspaper for the beginning of the show that Mushnik reads. I wanted to make all the news articles in the newspaper really depressing like how Skid Row is in the movie. The only written article that I did was the shopping trolley in the sea one on the top of the image which I based on something that I actually saw while with a friend late at night at my home town, my own Skid Row. All the other articles are just copypastas of things I knew (One is from Earthbound, another from the script of the Doctor Who TV Movie (I had to add some Doctor Who somewhere), the lyrics of Burn the Witch from Radiohead is also there and the lines from an OneyNG video are on the bottom). This was sent to them, and they received it, yet it still wasn't used.
So I think that's everything, everything that I had designed for this show. It's a shame that the stuff that I created months in advance wasn't used at all. It was all replaced. I'm still proud of a couple of them, most notably the Monster Magazines, and some I think still need work. Overall, I'm glad I met a lot of nice and wonderful people while working on this production, but the unprofessional-ism, laziness, favouritism, pettiness, and many other things during this production honestly makes me glad it was over. I didn't cry over the final show like many others straight after the curtains dropped down, I just wanted to leave that theatre and forget about it (I did come back, after I changed, to hug some of the very emotional performers).
Don't feed the plants, we'll have tomorrow.
