I admit I am absolutely terrible at the actual show-style for ponies. Something about the way mouths/snouts look and the way wings are attached make the typical style seem... unbalanced? If that makes sense? I always feel bad whenever ponies gasp because it looks like that's the only way they can BREATHE through those tiny muzzles! Wings never look like they have the supporting musculature to keep a pegasus aloft, and I'm not exactly up to snuff on how horns are formed and supported, so I suppose unicorns get a pass.

But, when I really want to flex my muscles with something, I like to mimic the canon style of a show. It helps my hands get out of familiar drawing ruts and it helps me learn more about technique.

This pony might never really reappear in my art -- she was also an exercise in color and mane styles -- but I call her Whisper Feathers, just in case. It's a working name, alongside Hushabye, Snoozle, and Shy Steps. I wanted to see if I could convey a character's personality based off design alone too so, lemme know what you think this pony is like! It really helps.
