For 1, 2 and 3, you don't use 'th', you use something else.
For 1, you use 'st' from 'first', making it 1st.
For 2, it's 'nd' from 'second', making it 2nd.
For 3, you use 'rd', from 'third', making it 3rd.
Just stupid English rules. While I can't be sure, I imagine this person is probably making a bit of fun of you, without realizing you're not a native English speaker. Kinda rude in my opinion.
