I rarely have nightmares because i can control the outcome of my dreams. If I dream someone kills me, i dream myself as a ghost, if someone stabs me i pull the knife out without any pain.
But several days ago I dreamt a hoopoe landed on my window and one of my fucking cats just jumped after it and fell from the 9th floor towards the street below. I instantly woke up.
So, I decided to paint a hoopoe to calm the spirits. I saw these birds a lot in Spain and Israel but rarely in Romania. I'm sure they are very common here too, but i just haven't had the luck to encounter them more often.

A funny fact about these birds is that although they looks so clean and pretty...their nests are made in tree burrows and are literally covered in crap that smells like rotten meat.
they're full of surprises.
