A week had passed since the "Jump City Disaster". News outlets all over the country continued to cover the story of the city’s attack by giant goo monsters before everything within a 20 mile radius of the city was disintegrated by a giant UFO, the population unaware that it was actually Mumbo's omnipotent magic hat. Stories of countless text messages and cellphone video footage by the victims circulated all over the internet, leaving only unanswered questions for a terrified public, who were unaware of the bizarre truth.
In a far off pocket dimension, a mass of land surrounded by an invisible force field floated aimlessly among the empty star-speckled void. This was the fate of Jump City and the residents unable to escape before the hat teleported them away. The former heroines Starfire and Raven continued their reign of mindless destruction as the gigantic Kaiju Goo monsters 'StarLizard’ and ‘RavenChicken’. Now that they were free of Mumbo's command, their minds no longer felt desire nor the ambition to do anything, preferring to wander around wrecking buildings without a care. As for the people down below, any poor, unconverted soul who ventured out would eventually find themselves caught in the torrent of goo or by the former citizens that turned into abominations and roamed the streets, then transformed into a gooey hybrid lizard bird, their intelligence erased and contempt to wander around aimlessly, much like their towering masters.
For the survivors who managed to avoid the goo infection, they stayed hidden away in the few places the creatures haven't gone too yet, but with the city floating out in space, food and water quickly became scarce. Fortunately, a pair of saviors were there to help. Back when the incident first occurred, a distress signal went off at Titans Tower over to Steel City. There, Titans East members Jinx and Bumblebee rushed over to aid the team, but by the time they arrived, they walked into the city's fate and were transported across space and time with it. Determined to help the people in this dire situation, they ran across the city, helping civilians by braving the dangerous infected zones and handing out food and water to the pockets of uninfected. Despite their best efforts, however, eventually they couldn't find enough for everyone and more and more people chose to give in and receive a life of Gooey mindless immortality over starving in the ruins of a building. It wasn’t long until only Jinx and Bumblebee were the only humans left in the whole city, and even with them acquiring all the supplies, it still didn’t seem like enough to last them. In the end, they opted for a new plan of action to make things right.
High upon the Mountains that had been cut in half by the force field, Jinx and Bumblebee had set up base within a cave originally used to honor a fallen Titan. However, the duo didn't have time to gaze at the statue that was once Tera, for they had their own problems to tackle and not a lot of time and resources to waste. For the next several days, they snuck back into the city as Bumblebee scavenged metal resources while Jinx searched the inside of the torn up, upside-down Titans Tower for Raven’s books on magic. She made a point to avoid the former Titan boys, whose turf she was treading, and soon, they acquired everything they needed to survive this nightmare and, with luck, eventually reverse this plague of mad goo. As Jinx used the various metals, a dab of the monster’s goo safely handled via a jar, rubber gloves, and a pair of tongs, and several magical incantations to forge a magic crown and necklace, they finally had the items necessary to maintain their survival.
With the accessories created, all that was left was to test them. Since only Jinx knew how to possibly fix anything, Bumblebee had decided to go first. She grabbed the first ring bracer, clasping it around her neck and feeling a strange sensation overcome her. Her body started to feel warm and soft like playdoh, feeling her body begin to turn a lighter shade and stretch especially her neck, originally barely able to hold the necklace but was now long enough for her to place another bracer on. Snapping on the next one caused a greater surge of power, sending a strange sensation into her sides which quickly developed into a second pair of arms. Running her gooey hands across her softened body, she felt an amazing sensation spread across her body and rushed to put on the last two rings at once. With her elongated neck now fully encased, the gems on the bangles began to glow brightly as Bumblebee's body started to feel intense pressure all over as her skin turned bright yellow. She felt like a piece of bubble gum being inflated as her wings turned to thick bubbles, making her float off the ground as a large thorax and stinger shot out from just above her rear as black stripes started appearing across it, completing her bee style. Just when it seemed as her transformation ended though, her chest ballooned out, easily doubling in size and making it impossible for her to see anything below her. As Bumblebee finally finished transforming, Jinx watched her friend’s actions as she looking at herself and rubbed her body. “So, how do you feel?” she asked. The now mutated superheroine turned to Jinx and spoke out, "I feel amazzzzzzing!!!” Her voice was now at a higher pitch and made a buzzing sound, matching her new bee form. Taking in the results, Jinx nodded with delight as she prepared the true test.
Jinx held out a container with the goo beast’s residue inside, instructing Bumblebee to touch it and see what happens. Audibly gulping, she shakily took the jar and cracked it open, tossing the lid aside and looking at the goo hesitantly. Eventually, she took a breath of courage and reached in, grabbing it with one of her many hands and wincing at the thought of the incoming stupidity to likely wash over her mind… But the mental degradation never happened. To her relief, Bumblebee discovered that in this form, she was completely immune to the goo beasts’ negative effects while still maintaining the positives, such as no longer needing food, water, or even sleep! This would the key to their continued survival while not falling under the sway of the massive corrupted beasts out there, and now it was Jinx's turn. She psyched herself up to put on the crown she made for herself, which was covered in magical gems that would not only make her immune like her friend, but would greatly amplify her magic powers enough to hopefully fix everything. She gingerly placed the crown on her head when suddenly, it emitted a strange light and began floating above her head.
She was paralyzed by the sudden rush of energy and simply stood there petrified in place with a frozen look of shock as the power surged through her changing the color of her entire body, hair and clothes, into a consistency that resembled a gooey, fiery red wax statue. Bumblebee was alarmed by the sight of Jinx looking like she now belonged in an wax museum, still getting use to her new body, she floats over and calls out to Jinx to see if she'll respond when suddenly Jinx’s body began to wobble slightly, her form started turning runny as though she was melting. Her face was frozen in the same expression of perpetual shock, remaining up until her human shape was reduced to little more than a puddle, with the crown continuing to float above it. Bumblebee looked over at what was left of her comrade, and solemnly dropped her head, believing she had truly perished by the sheer power of the crown. As she began to lift up her head, something began to happen.
The red puddle started to bubble, slowly at first, then more rapidly. A figure rose up from the sludge before soon solidifying into a relative resemblance of Jinx before it began to twist and reform into a more birdlike form with long bubble wings, a long neck and a round beak. In only a minute, Jinx was reborn from a puddle of her former self to a gooey phoenix, surging with magical power and bestowed an immortal body that granted her all the time in the world to become even stronger. Bumblebee called out to her friend, relieved to see she wasn't dead, but the luck-based sorceress ignored her, too preoccupied with how wonderful her new body felt, running her duck-like fingers across her soft bosoms, which while not as big as Bumblebee's, still made her feel gorgeous even as a living slime creature. After an hour of fun experimenting with the capability of their new forms, the pair decided to take on new names that better suited their new selves. Ready to face the ruined city, they now referred to themselves as Jinx Phoenix and Bumble Bee-Bee, fully embracing their new animal appearance and power. Since they now were completely immune to the Goo Beasts corruption and were no longer held back by human weaknesses and limitations, the pair found themselves free to take as much time as they needed to make things right. After all, it’s not like there were any humans to worry about, right?
For the next several months, Jinx Phoenix leisurely took her time researching newer, more powerful magic, eventually gaining the ability to undo the mental binding of servitude the infected people had endured, giving them back their minds and free will so long as they kept away from the goo beasts from that point onward. Jinx Phoenix later found a combination of spells that she hoped would take the massively mutated StarLizard and RavenChicken and revert them back. Getting a brief opportunity, she cast it upon mighty Kaijus that were once her teammates, but when the spell hit the two, rather than shrinking back to normal, they instead popped like giant bubbles raining down globs that reformed into brand new Starfires and Ravens. However, despite sheer amount of the two, none of them had any memories of the originals, Still, it was a relief to be able to rebuild the city, now that none of the mutated residents had to worry of any giant monsters knocking everything down. With that done, Jinx Phoenix shepherded all the clueless Starfire and Raven clones into a massive chamber inside their mountain fortress and casted a powerful freezing spell on the lot, freezing them solid and keeping them in storage like a massive collection of ice sculptures for later before returning to her research. Meanwhile, Bumble Bee-Bee took to leading the effort to restore the city back in order as well as finding and rounding up any straggling infected that were still under the original influence of the vanished Kaijus, eventually finding Cyborg and rekindling the relationship they had together. Over time, Jump city was back in functioning order again, only now the residents of the city were made of goo and no longer bound by human needs, so adjustments had to be made. Still day to day life seemed to start coming together. Unbeknownst to everyone though, Jinx Phoenix was on the verge of a breakthrough.
While everyone else was focused on reconstruction, Jinx Phoenix was hard at work trying to understand the depth of her magic, and after months of hard work, she developed a cultivation spell to create a Goo Tree that produced fruit which could generate any effect she desired. She’d done it. They finally had the ability to return back to normal, and she had the spell and the power needed to send everyone home. Just as she began to prepare the spell ready to revert everyone back, the mutant mage paused for a bit and asked herself. Is this really what she desired? To lose this powerful, indestructible form and returning to Earth as a weak human, while in her current existence, she could not die and, in fact, had the power to rule over all? She found herself intoxicated with the thought of being queen, even if it was being a big fish in a little bowl. She didn’t need to try very hard to coax Bumble Bee-Bee into agreeing with her plan, as she too had grown fond of her form and lost any desire to go back. They both had agreed that from that day on, things were gonna change
60 years had passed. What was once a broken modern city floating in an endless void had now become a gigantic castle. Both Jinx Phoenix and Bumble Bee-Bee had long declared themselves queens and rulers of the glorious Goo Empire, much to the shock of the citizens. They didn't like this at first and protested against it, but the Queen Phoenix had an ace up her sleeve. She summoned forth her army of Armored Goo Knights which were actually the unfrozen goo clones of Starfire and Raven, and under Queen Bee's command they enforced the monarchy's rule without question. Jinx Phoenix had used her magic to turn the hundreds of titan doppelgangers into obedient, hardened armored knights that bared no resemblance to the former Tamaranian princess or half-demon empath. They demonstrated their weapons on the rebels, maces that could permanently solidify a goo person like a statue before being put out on display to serve as a reminder of the cost of disobedience, and the peasants quickly fell into line. Not long after, a hierarchy was established and everyone had a role to play, with the ones who originally came to save the people now ruling over them.
As decades turned into centuries, Jinx, Bumble Bee, and the rest of Jump City long forgot their lives back on Earth. Their memories of being solid mortals were now the stuff of fairy tales and legends to tell every now and then. With no means of reproducing and everyone immortal, life in the Goo Empire soon became stagnate, the thrill of casting away humanity having long vanished and everyone carried out the tasks of their rank like unthinking machines, without realizing it, life had returned to the mindless shuffle it was when the Kaiju's reigned supreme. One day, while Queen Phoenix was reading through the old scriptures, she found a spell that could take them to another world, with the name of this world being so unfamiliar to her. She had completely forgotten this was the spell created 300 years ago to send everyone home then subsequently buried so they could stay here forever, but in her own eyes, she was seeing this for the first time and she was suddenly filled with excitement, an emotion that had been lost to her so many years ago. She rallied her troops with Queen Bee, life and excitement returned to the citizens as Queen Phoenix prepared the spell, looking out at the city-sized kingdom with contempt. Ruling over something so small had grown the two, and with this spell, they set on a new goal: conquest.
Back on Earth, on the one month anniversary of Jump City’s disappearance, a massive city-sized castle suddenly appeared over the vacuous crater exactly where the city once stood, much to the people’s shock. The camera crews barely had enough time to focus on the castle before its massive doors swung open, and a wave of Goo Knights rushed out, attacking anyone in the vicinity, with each wounded human melting and re-solidifying into a goo being, then began wandering towards the castle in hypnotic daze. Queen Phoenix had prepared long and hard for this, converting every citizen into a royal Goo Knight and created a secret weapon in preparation for the invasion. Any human that came in contact with the mutants weapons were instantly transformed into one as well, and with the aid of a massive magic gem, all converted goo humans would migrate back to the castle for mental altering, creating a ever expanding military force unlike any other. To outside forces, this invasion quickly turned into an epidemic that spread across the country like wildfire, continuing to grow further and further. Not even heroes were safe, so many trying to save the populace falling and joining the gooey invaders’ ranks as yet another faceless, obedient goo knight. As the remnants of western civilization struggled to remain solid and figuring out just what caused such a travesty, at the center of it all is a Bird and Bee cackling with evil delight over this new world which would soon be theirs to rule for all eternity. To think this all started over a hat. The end.
