I'm gonna call this a WIP, I think there are a few details I still want to add, but I'm putting aside for now.
Lupine finds himself in a bit of a pickle. Surrounded by violent men on a mission to do god knows what in an environment that's somewhat unfriendly to tourists.
I wasnt terribly satisfied with the composition, but I went ahead and finished it anyway.

I wonder if part of the issue might have been the blocking of the action?
For instance, the lupine character with the gun and the knife: one arm is obstructing the view of his face, and the other is held so closely to his body that it hardly seems like an arm -- or a threat -- at all.
A repositioning of his arms would make his gestures both more dramatic and more clear; it would also give us a good view of his angry face.

Another issue: all of the action takes place in one central portion of the image, and for that reason, nothing seems emphasized -- not the evil characters, not the fleeing figure. And this linear set-up also de-emphasizes any sense of movement, of tension.
If the action were positioned to form an angle within the frame, with the fleeing character approaching us at that angle, it would put more emphasis on his desperation, and help to build a sense of urgency... and a sense of audience identification.
