Yup. Decided to be a memefag and get this one done. It's Yuki's meme, I think. Back from a 36-hour mission. Surprised I can still type correctly.
Sentence fragments are win.
Tried a new technique with the colors. Hope you guys like it. Also saved it as an PNG. What's the difference between that and a JPG, anyway?

i've already made plenty of notes on the original one. the one that those watching
military-furs use is completely re-edited to look nothing like a truly scanned ID. I've also already distributed warnings to not print them out or show them off as the military can fee or arrest them for doing so. it's strictly for the group an if people feel the need to go against the warning then they are held responsible.

most of the people that are doing them are those in the military, an people people can get copies of what a cac card looks like anywhere. that's another reason the original of this edited version was changed so much. if you look at a real one an this one it's more than obvious that this is fake. I made very sure that this was fake, but there are still those out there that would want to print it out just to make a funny, an were warned with big bold red letters not to an why. so if someone wants to be stupid about it, then they'll find out the hard way. either way though, nobody would be let into high security areas, let alone on a base with anything that looked like this. haha
Alright, you do what you want. I just know what I was told, and we were all told NOT to be helping people forge military items... and when I looked at my card, honestly the only differences I saw were minor enough that a less-than-observant guard might "accidentally" just wave them on.
But then again, I've always been more of a stickler for the rules. Nevermind me.

it's not that the labels aren't where they are on a real cac. I mean a real cac has watermarks that can be seen all over it, and the image isn't a cartoon, so this guard would need to be completely incompetent to wave this ID by ^___^;; an though there are some pretty doofy military folks an security guards out there, they at least are required to have a shred of sense. or else I wouldn't trust them with any ounce of my safety ^^
PNG can also support transparency. However, to be honest, generally .jpg/.jpeg is perfectly fine for your average image and your casual user isn't going to notice a difference in quality if you don't set it low when you save it. .png is something I save only for really specific kinds of images, and I use .gifs for lineart and flat coloured pieces.
any specific reason for the lineart to be gifs? I found that the quality of PNGs is aLOT better! I redid teh pic with Yuki on a green bed as a png, and the colors shone out a hellovalot better.
Then again, I've been studyin' here and there on coloring styles. Maybe this next piece'll come sometime alot later and you'll see. ^_^

.gifs are perfect for lineart because they work great when there's no real complex shading or a bunch of colours or anything involved. If I take a simple inked picture that has no colours on it, and I save it as a jpeg, I might get a 150KB filesize, but if I save it as a .gif, I'll probably get something more around 100KB if not lower, and it sacrifices no quality if you know what you're doing.
Usually when people say they felt PNGs were so much better, it was because they had the settings to save the .jpegs as pretty low. Of course, PNGs do have their place and they can work better with some pictures than others. For instance, pictures with lots of red? Jpegs don't like red, so PNG might work better then. It really just depends on the type of image. Inks and flatcoloured/cel-shaded pictures become gifs, most normal coloured pictures become jpegs, and specially coloured pictures or pictures with transparency become png. I tend to be very conscious of file sizes when I save.
Of course, if you really prefer PNGs you can use them, I just personally find myself rarely making use of them.
