So, I happen to be the proud owner of three extremely cute little salamanders. When I received them I read up as much as I could about them, and found out that way back a long time ago people used to believe that salamanders were creatures that were born from fire. (Salamanders like to live in damp dark places, and logs happen to be very appealing to them. So, if they happened to be living in a log when said log was thrown into a fire, naturally they'd get really hot and climb out.)

Of course this fire salamander business isn't true in the least, but it didn't stop me from drawing a salamander-y, scale-y, fire-y creature from the idea anyway. He looks a bit confused... but I suppose I would be too! What do you think?
