one of the Kings of the Arachi people, Septimus is notoriously mad. Speaking of himself in third person with a penchant for ignoring personal space, the terror of the subterranean Arachi kingdom is at the least devoted to his role. He follows all the Arachi laws, never suffers his people to endure the tyranny of the Vespids and protects all of his subjects down to the last individual.
At one point, an Arachi boy under his protection was stolen. Septimus did not let the slight go unpunished, and committed himself to a silent war that ended with the reformation of the Vespid government and the Arachi people more feared and respected than ever in all the history of the Entomos.
Among the Arachi - the least physically developed and most mutated of the Entomos - limbs are a sign of station. the more you have, the higher level of respect you garner from others, King or not. Septimus has more limbs than even the Grand High King Anansi. So many, in fact, that he loses track of them - he claims. The hands often found reaching out and inappropriately touching himself - and others - at the worst moments.
Naturally he has intense difficulty with formal situations.
